With the iPhone 13 this year, Apple further makes it more difficult for customers to get repairs from third-party stores. However, it is risky to replace the chip to solve Face ID not working after iPhone 13 screen replacement. REWA LAB does not recommend that non-professionals try this method.
Options. Hi Elie. The Face ID feature on the iPhone X works with sensors located within the frame and connected directly to the screen. Chances are the sensors connected on the screen were affected during your screen replacement. You should check the flex cable all the way on top of the screen for: connection (plugged into the board all the way)
Face ID sensor cannot be replaced. If the screen is a third party, ensure that the earpiece assembly is removed from the damaged screen and added to the new one, as it houses Face ID components. Also, check over your cables: make sure they don’t show any small tears or are unloose a bit from the motherboard. Restart Your iPhone. Restarting your iPhone or iPad is a quick fix for a minor software glitch that could be the reason why Face ID is not available. On iPhones, simultaneously press and hold the side button and either volume button until the “slide to power off” slider appears on the display. Swipe the circular, white and red power icon The assembly is also paired to your phone, is part of the security system, and cannot be replaced by anyone but Apple, if you want Face ID to work. So, options: 1) Ensure that the device is using the latest version of iOS. 2) Reset Face ID. 3) Reset device. 4) Place device in DFU mode and do a full reset. 5) Open the device and recheck your work. Check your Face ID settings. To check your Face ID settings, go to Settings, then tap Face ID & Passcode. Make sure that Face ID is set up and that the features you're trying to use Face ID with are turned on. 3. Check that nothing is covering the TrueDepth camera. Step 9. After the solder balls are formed, clean with PCB cleaner. Apply Paste Flux to the bonding pads of the new screen. Align the chip of the original screen. Solder the chip with Hot Air Gun at 300 °C. Remove high-temperature tape after the flex cable has cooled. Add a comment. Now proceed with the home button flex replacement. 4. After replacing the flex cable, connect the phone to computer, open iTunes, run a backup first then click "Restore Firmware" (not restore from backup). Note that all data will be wiped out on your phone and it will be upgraded to the latest firmware. 5.As iFixit reported, if a third-party repair shop replaced the iPhone 13 display, Apple would disable the phone's Face ID system.
